Reclaiming a city landmark for a new generation of travelers while connecting with the community and its history and culture. I will be exploring methods and theories of Historic Preservation in design to honor the history and change of the building and of Astoria. A variety of lodging types, for long- and short-term residency can accommodate locals and tourists, and the grand lobby will be furnished to act as a living room and workspace to anyone in the city. Food and drink spaces will tie into the building’s history and the cultural heritage of the city and its local ingredients.
